Today is kind of a TV holiday. But you'd only know that if you were geeky about the show Community. Allow me. For Community fans, disappointment is kind of a solstice -- it happens a couple times a year and each one's a little different. But the show's creator likes to take those and fold them into the story of the show. Dan Harmon says, "Eat pain. Poop rainbows." Meaning, use your pain to make someone else's pain a little better. Sort of beautiful, eh? One of last year's pains was the news that the already tenuous Season 4 would be delayed from its original airdate of October 19th to some time in the future. Maybe. There was speculation that the episodes already shot might never even air but could wind up as DVD extras. It was a dark time. Kind of like the other three years. But true to Dan Harmon (whose absence that season was another solstice), the writers came up with a promo featuring the entire cast that turned October 19th into a beautiful hashtag, something to keep fans busy until the show's fate was decided. And this year, fans turned it into an actual holiday. Today is the second ever CommuniCon in L.A. Yes, we have our own convention because hey, who else will talk to us about this stuff? I see you've already left. I'll just play the promo.
