happy fall, y'all

tho there were stars

Twas not shimmering, glittering bling,
Tho there were stars.

Twas not oohing and ahhing of gifts,
Tho there was Him.

Cattle in the delivery room.
The air, less than sweet.

Crowds in every village space.
The heir, lonely still.

It had to be loud.
And crude.
And open air.

Here was the thunder to shake foundations.
The good we could not find on earth.
The path into forever.

Him.

Bringing power.
And the control to give it away.

Giving life.
And the strength to lay it down.

Coming here.
So we can go.

We will make way.
Make room.
For others.
For light.
For Him.
