A friend of mine, a Phoenix local, led me to the edge of the Grand Canyon for the first time.  After about a minute, he said, "Let's go to this next observation point."

Unmoving, with tears in my eyes, I said, "Can you.......gimme a minute?"

You can look at pictures all you want, but nothing will prepare you for encountering this place in person.  We spent all day there.  Went separately at one point to just find our own spot to look and think.  You can't help but think big thoughts here.

If you have a bucket list, this should be on it.  It's more than rocks, it's a place to recalibrate.  It's a place for art and faith and seeing life differently.  While there, make sure you experience an Arizona sunset.  They somehow include deep reds and purples and every bold color in the box.
