The trip home from Nashville should've taken four hours. It took eleven. The car was overheating the whole way. I was grateful for my friend Tonya who was with me and whose husband knows enough about cars to keep giving us next steps to try along the way. When we got back he recommended the mechanic I used, a diagnostician who got the car finally running right. He was the third mechanic in a month to try and do so.
What makes a car geek? A love for all things automotive, I guess. And a knowledge of the topic. It also helps to have skills in that area, and I guess most car geeks do. But this last guy -- maybe he was a car nerd. Either way I'm so thankful to all of you in my life who've shared any knowledge or skill with my endless fleet of "cars with character." I'm often reminded to pray for you while driving! May the Lord seriously bless you.
Are you a car geek? Or do you need one in your life?
