bloggers' breakfast with Donald Miller & friends #31days

So I walk in this coffee shop in Nashville and a friend of mine from Atlanta pops up next to me.  "Why are you here?" asked Jerry, knowing the answer.  We were at the first of several icebreaker events preceding Donald Miller's Storyline conference.  But neither of us knew the other was coming. I used to be in a small group that Jerry and his wife hosted in their home.  Small kingdom.  Jerry's blog is called Realty Caffeine.

Don Miller is a blogger, script writer, and author of memoirs so transparent you'll wonder how he crawled inside your brain.  He and two of his Storyline bloggers led this early morning discussion about writing, publishing, and story structure.  Jerry got us seats on the front row and took this shot.  As you can see it was a wonderfully intimate gathering.  I learned:

• that my blog, particularly this 31-Day thing, is pretty uninspiring right now. 
• that's okay.  You're getting to know more about my likes and interests, and I'm getting to be part of the 31-day community.  [Note to self: go read other 31-Day blogs and mingle with blogging community.]
• I should write every morning before checking my phone.  This is the best piece of advice ever.  (Thanks, Don.)
  

I walked out thinking, okay, I can go home now.  It was worth the whole trip.
