Mike Burns is a minimalist rapper. Yeah, he raps about minimalism. He also has two ebooks on the subject and his wife has another. I just read the first book while at the beach and kept imagining songs he might do based on the content. He probably has way better ideas than these, but here are my beach ramblings. You Can't See Me about hiding behind "busy." Weigh It deciding what's important. Only so Many Days This one is almost written in the middle of Chapter 3: Mike writes: I only have today to live. Okay, then it quits rhyming but it ends with such a great line: And...if I get tomorrow...I'll do it again. Would love to hear this song!
The Work of Simplicity okay I don't have a title but something on this topic. Everybody's Creative Oh, wait, he did that one already. (This one is on Mike's personal channel. His main channel is TOSCTV.. Subscribe to it!) Hallway Zombie people who don't see the people right in front of them. This is the song I most want to hear. And not just because of the October tentpole marketing possibilities, though they're real. I mainly think it would be an awesome rap song. And in Mike's hands, funny. Shut the Front Door about digital and physical inboxes. They Can't Love Me Back a geek gives away her books. Or his. Junk Drawer about clearing one small space at a time. There.
